Integrated Livestock Development Programme

    To provide gainful self-employment to the rural livestock keepers through dairy and livestock development programmes "Integrated Livestock Development Programme" is being implemented in joint collaboration with Govt. of Odisha and BAIF Development Research Foundation, Pune for a period of 3 years.

 

    Under Integrated Livestock Development Programme, Non-descriptive (ND) dairy cows of our State will be artificially inseminated with semen of bulls of improved variety to enhance the genetic potential. This will increase the milk yield capacity of the progenies born out of artificial insemination and increase farmers’ income in addition the high milk yielding female calves born under the programme will be an asset to the farmers in future.

 

    This programme is being implemented through establishment of 285 Cattle Development Centers (CDC) covering 16 districts of the State namely Angul, Bargarh, Balangir, Boudh, Kalahandi, Koraput, Nawrangpur, Nuapada, Sambalpur, Sonepur in western part and Cuttack, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Puri in coastal region
